Countdown To A Royal Wedding: Hollywood Royalty

Of course, we can't talk about Royal Weddings without also touching on Hollywood Royalty! With so many film stars with lavish weddings and gorgeous parties to choose from, I've decided to keep it simple and focus on two of my favorites: Elizabeth Taylor and Joanne Woodward.

Though she's notorious for having been married eight times to seven men, I still think Liz's most glamorous wedding was her first. In 1950, at the age of 18, Elizabeth Taylor married the hotel heir, Conrad "Nicky" Hilton. In pictures, it's evident in her beautiful violet eyes that she's excited and nervous, yet her overall look is regal and sophisticated. I love the low, heart-shaped neckline on her gown, as well as the way her chest and neck are modestly (though sexily) covered with a delicate white lace. And, as always, Elizabeth Taylor's eyebrows are so astoundingly gorgeous! She was such a beautiful bride the first time around, there's no wonder why she wanted to try getting married seven times more!

As we all know, the most romantic part about marriage is falling in love, and what Hollywood couple has ever been more in love than Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward? The couple met in 1957 and married the following year, beginning a loving and intimate union that lasted fifty years. I love that when you look at pictures of the two of them, their love is palpable, engaging, and so completely obvious- it's almost like paging through the pages of your best friend's photo album and seeing her charming honeymoon photos, only Newman and Woodward always seemed to be on their honeymoon! I'm hard pressed to think of another celebrity couple with such a genuine love between them, and, like many of us, I've always been enormous fans of their partnership.

I'm curious to know which celebrity couples are your favorites! Let me know in the comments.

Until tomorrow,
Katrina.
